When changing into a completely different avatar I recommend figuring out what u want to look like ahead of time ... I had no idea and it took me forever ... For me SL is a world where u can do, say and b whatever u want so looking like myself wasn't an option ... I look like myself everyday why would I wanna do that here? I decided that I wanted some of my same characteristics tho!
First my hair! I went to Analog Dog once and was completely and totally addicted to the hair! I found myself with like 10 demos and no idea which to get ... I think I ended up with 4 or 5 but I luv the fullness and the richness of this hair the curls make me really happy and I think that the shape of the hair frames my face well!
When Rainee got her avatar together last month I learned a valuable lesson SL Skin is a battle that u need to conquer in 1 of 2 ways ... U either need someone to tell u what skin to have or u need to try lots of different skins until u find the one for u! Another lesson that I learned from Rainee is that if a skin designer has free skins in their store go get it! I went to Al Vulo and got their free skin because it was free and because everyone talks about Al Vulo! When I put it on it was almost as if it was made for my shape! Thus began my wild passionate luv affair with Al Vulo skin! I spent tons of time gathering all the different demos and trying them ... I was about to buy a skin, but the Private Room event happened and when I demoed the Polly Skin it fit like a glove! ... The cool thing was that I saved about 500L in the process and my wallet and my cool new outfit appreciates that always! ... I had been in a porcelain skin for a long time and had become used to it's lightness I originally wanted a tan skin but as Rainee said when u have a chance to really get used to being in ur SL Skin take it!
My shape is a RaineeDaisee Original ... She said it looked cute so I kept it! Free stuff SCORE!
